DCCN Open Mic 5/19

Sometimes a theme emerges at an Open Mic.  Interestingly, tonight it was marriage.  A number of performers sang songs that will appear in newlywed Jill Leger’s showcase next month; Eileen Warner movingly dedicated a song to her late ex-husband; Lonny Smith was inspired by the recent California Supreme Court to sing Rainbow; Davey Brown dedicated his song Shiksa Goddess to the absent Emily Everson (noted for her song Bar Mitvah Shiksa Mama); Kathy and Mike Repass are celebrating their first anniversary tomorrow;and married songwriters Jason Robert Brown and Georgia Stitt were well represented in people’s selections.

And needless to say, the wonderful Mary Sugar on piano made everybody sound terrific!
