Well, it was the final DC Cabaret Network Open Mic at the Warehouse Theater last night. I was really sorry that business travel kept me from being there.
Having been in the 3rd or 4th show that played there, then performing at the venue intermittently over the years, I’ve always had a great fondness for the space. And an even greater fondness for Molly, Paul, and Mark Rupert who have done so much with such open hearts to support the arts — visual, theatrical, and film — in the DC area.
The lovely Kathy Reilly was good enough to forward the list of what people sang (to the masterful Alex Tang at the keys — on his day off from The Visit):
- David McMullen
- It Could Happen to You – Jimmy Van Heusen
- Darn that Dream – Jimmy Van Heusen
- You Musn’t Kick it Around – Rodgers and Hart
- Kathy Reilly
- Why Don’t You Do Right? – Joe McCoy
- Two for the Road – Leslie Bricusse and Henri Mancini
- Where Do You Start? – Alan and Marilyn Bergman and Johnny Mandal
- Mary Reilly
- Dance – Amanda McBroom
- Smile – John Turner and Geoffrey Parsons with music by Charlie Chaplin
- Steve Rossman
- Nice Work if You Can Get It – Ira and George Gershwin
- Anyone Can Whistle – Stephen Sondheim
- She Touched Me – Ira Levin and Milton Schafer
- Adele Russell
- I Came into Your World – Adele Russell
- Why Did I Choose You? – Herbert Martin and Michael Leonard
- Twisted – Ross and Gray
- Lonny Smith
- Joey, Joey, Joey – Frank Loesser
- What’ll I Do? – Irving Berlin
- I Can Play This Part
- Ron Squeri
- Unexpected Song – Andrew Lloyd Weber
- So In Love – Cole Porter
- One More Walk Around the Garder — Alan Jay Lerner & Burton Lane
- Eileen Warner
- It’s Time
- Dividing Day
I’ll post info on the new venue for the DCCN Open Mic when I hear about it!

Hi,
The wonderful Eileen Warner was also at the Open Mic. She sang It’s Time and Deciding Day.
