Stephen Holden on Clare Burt

The NYTimes on the British import at the Metropolitan Room: “There was a foray into French pop, zany readings of “One Note Samba” and “The Saga of Jenny” that strove too hard for novelty, and a version of “Fable,” from “The Light in the Piazza,” that paled beside Victoria Clark’s definitive interpretation. In Ms. Burt, a very talented singer of dramatic extremes, there is a solid middle ground yet to be cultivated.
