Loretta Mary Aiken, better known as “Moms” endured sexual, racial and political oppression while paving the way for African American women actors like Angela Bassett, Margaret Avery, Diana Rosse, Alfre Woodard, Oprah Winfrey and the genus of Whoopi Goldberg.

Diane Hoffman and the Phil Ravita Trio Present “A Tribute to Peggy Lee”
Jun 12, 2010 at 7:30 pm — Vocalist Diane Hoffman salutes actress, prolific songwriter and sultry singer, Peggy Lee, performing such selections as “I Don’t Know Enough About You,” “Big Spender,” “Why Don’t You Do Right,” “Fever” and more. Peggy Lee had a long and varied career. She was first propelled to fame in the 1940’s while with the Benny Goodman Band. She wrote hundreds of songs and was nominated for an academy award for her role in “Pete Kelly’s Blues.” Diane Hoffman, a multi talented creative powerhouse is an accomplished artist as well as an exciting , dynamic jazz singer. She brings her painter’s narrative appreciation and innate sense of tone and balance to her skilled jazz interpretations.
