Hello to DC performers I’ve contacted through the years about my work as a Boston-based cabaret and jazz songwriter or who I’ve met at the DC Cabaret Network’s “Stop The Presses” showcases.
Some of you may remember Steven Cupo’s fine interpretation of “It’s Time For Roses” at the 2001 DC Network showcase. Now, this song has been chosen in a national competition for inclusion in the Festival of New Vocal Music to be held at the Catholic University of America in DC on Sept. 10-11. My song will be part of the program at 1:30 on Sept 11 in John Paul Hall on the CUA campus. Performers are drawn from Great Noise Ensemble, CUA’s ensemble-in-residence. Like other chosen composers, I will be in DC for all festival events.
For more about the festival, go to http://composition.cua.edu/NewVoices.cfm.
And if you haven’t been to my website in awhile – take a look! There is more material than ever, including what will be a growing number of videos of performances of my work in Boston-area showcases. Fully arranged piano-vocal sheet music is available for Roses or any other posted song. There might well be something here for one of your own future events.
