Stephen Holden on Linda Eder & Michael Feinstein

The NYTimes reviews the crooner and the beltress— “Although both singers have strong, steady voices, the only times they blended comfortably were in the program’s quieter moments, most notably in Henry Mancini and Leslie Bricusse’s title song, in which they found a wistful, tender rapprochement….Because Ms. Eder, a strapping thoroughbred, is taller than Mr. Feinstein and has a larger voice, the show often felt like a competition in which Mr. Feinstein struggled to match a rival with Olympian stamina.”

And Linda Eder fans take note — she’s appearing at Strathmore on October 6th.
